The Fran Brown Achievement for Life System is a step-by-step process that combines the art and science of beauty care with critical life skills. This innovative system will enhance your learning, increase your confidence and can help you secure a successful career.


Cosmetologist—2000 hours (full-time = 54 weeks)
Learn all phases of cosmetology/barbering including hair cutting, styling, permanent waving, color, salon management, facials, manicures, and all other related course material. Students also learn the Pivot Point training program. Pivot Point is an entire training program with seven courses above and beyond the state board minimum training requirements. As a Pivot Point student, you will receive a diploma for each of these programs and two tuition-free vouchers for graduate training at Pivot Point International.


Esthetics
Students may enroll in our Esthetics Program at the Basic Level (600 hours) Full Time 16 Weeks, Master Level (600 hours) Full Time 16 Weeks, or combined Master Program (1200 hours) Full Time 32 weeks.

Course Description
BASIC
Our Basic Esthetics program offers complete skin-care training including skin analysis and consultation, massage and lymphatic massage, express facials, machine facials, European facials, extractions, limited chemical exfoliation, specialty masks, aromatherapy, body waxing, make-up design, manicures and pedicures, sciences and bacteriology, product knowlege, salon management, and other related course materials.

MASTER
Our Master Esthetics program offers the above topics but elevates your training to the master level with topics that include chemical acid peeling, microdermabrasion, spa body treatments, manual lymphatic drainage, advanced cosmetic chemistry, spa manicures and pedicures, lash perming, and other related materials.

Course Format
Our Esthetics program is a hands-on, how-to guide that uses the practical component of working in salons and spas. This extraordinary approach to teaching is the key that will help take you to the top of your career. Our mission statement is to effectively train students to become marketable in the salon and spa industry. At Fran Brown College of Beauty, students receive education through a sequential set of learning steps, which address specific tasks necessary for state board preparation, graduation, and job entry-level skills.

Nail Technician200 hours (full-time = 5.5 weeks)
Learn all phases of manicuring/nails including sanitation procedures, anatomy and physiology of the nail, diseases of the nail, artificial nails, nail design, and pedicuring. Students are trained in acrylic nails, fiberglass nails and gel nails and will also learn how to apply nail tips, forms, and overlays.

Instructor Training—1000 hours (full-time = 27 weeks)
Learn all phases of cosmetology/barbering Instructor training including basic teaching methodology, educational judgments, and proper work habits that will enable students to become marketable and pass the State Board examination.

 

ADMISSIONS
To be considered, applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate, and drivers license or proof of age. A parent or guardian must endorse enrollment of any applicant under the age of 18.

A small percentage of students may be admitted without a high school diploma or GED by demonstrating the ability to benefit from the course of training through testing according to the school's policy. Contact school director for further details.

All applicants must also attend an enrollment interview and receive and review the school's catalog before being admitted.

 

FINANCIAL AID
The Fran Brown Achievement for Life System offers several sources for financial assistance. We can provide grants, scholarships and flexible payment plans for qualified applicants. Plan to check with our Financial Aid department to determine which programs you may qualify for.
